Hiroshima Botanical Garden

The Hiroshima Botanical Garden opened in 1976 (Showa 51) as a social education facility for the purpose of promoting environmental preservation and the spread of knowledge related to plant life. Situated atop a hill overlooking the Seto Inland Sea from Kurashige in Hiroshima's Saeki Ward, the 18.3 hectare garden offers a wide variety of facilities, including a large greenhouse where visitors can enjoy tropical and subtropical environs all year round, as well as a cactus greenhouse, a display greenhouse, a tropical water lily greenhouse, a begonia greenhouse, a fuchsia greenhouse, a cultivation greenhouse, a library and more, with a total of approximately 234,600 plants covering 11,700 different species.

Access
Located in front of the "Shokubutsu Koen" bus stop, accessible from Hiroshima Station by taking the JR Sanyo Line to "Itsukaichi Station" and then taking a bus bound for "Yakushi-ga-oka-danchi" via "Shokubutsu Koen."
