Takehara retains streetscapes from the Edo period in its Townscape Preservation District.
The Tokobo Fudo workshop in this old townscape offers the chance to try your hand at making pottery.
1. Hand-shaping / Potter's wheel
Try your hand at creating bowls from clay.
Paint your own picture on a bowl.
Whatever you create will be fired in the kiln at Tokobo Fudo once it's complete.
Please note that, depending on the shape you created, your pottery may crack during firing.
It will take about a month to get your bowl.
You can either come and collect your work, or have it sent to you (shipping payment on arrival).
