Kagura Performance (Akitakata City)

Overview

Kaguramonzen Spa Village is a hot spring village located at the top of a small mountain in Midori-cho, a small town located in northern Akitakata City.

It's an old yet familiar place with natural hot springs, latticed inns, traditional bathhouse lodgings, and rows of shops selling souvenirs, food, and tea. Twenty-two kagura troupes hold their regular performances over 150 days a year (mainly on weekends) in the Kagura Dome, which can hold 2,000 people, and the Kamukuraza Theater.

There are shows on Friday and Saturday evenings, twice on Sunday afternoons, and extra performances on public holidays (afternoons).

After the performances (selected), the audience can try on the costumes.
